After School Care
Welcome to the Chelsea School District Afterschool Care program. We provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment for Chelsea School District students in young fives and kindergarten through fifth grade after school and during non-school days. This program is a state-licensed child care program and is supervised by our qualified District staff.
On days that school is in session, students are transported from North Creek and South Meadows after school to the aftercare site. We provide students an afternoon snack, free play time, structured activities, outdoor time and gym time. Care begins each afternoon once students arrive on the bus from North Creek and South Meadows (approximately 3:00 p.m.) and students must be picked up by the end of each day at 5:30 p.m. Each day students will want to have a water bottle, comfortable closed-toe shoes, and weather appropriate outdoor clothing.
On scheduled half-days and some full days where school is not in session, we will offer care as well. Registration for these additional dates will open at the start of the school year. On days where the District is closed due to inclement weather, we will be closed for school age care. On half-days, care will be offered from arrival (approximately 11:15 a.m.) until 5:00 p.m. and on non-school days, the center will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Students are required to register for a consistent weekly schedule during the school year, with a minimum of two days per week. Any schedule changes during the year require at least 30 days’ notice, and schedule change fees will apply. All dates and times are subject to change. The rates for the 2024-25 school year are listed below:
• Regular aftercare rate: $17.48 per day
• Half-day of school: $39.32 per day
• Non-school day: $65.54 per day
• Initial payment: $50 registration per child + $50 down payment = $100
• Late pickup charges of $1.00 per minute begin after scheduled closing time
